“Unconditional love really exists in each of us. It is part of our deep inner being. It is not so much an active emotion as a state of being. It’s not ‘I love you’ for this or that reason, not ‘I love you if you love me.’ It’s love for no reason, love without an object.” – Be Love Now by Ram Dass
Inside of you is a deep experience of unconditional love. You. Whoever is reading this. All that you have projected onto your idols, heroes, and deities is buried deep beneath the surface of your conditioning. We’ve been taught that love is an emotion that is experienced by our self, but what if this love was your self?
This book was important to me now in my life more than ever. I’ve always been attached to the idea that love is what it’s all for! Love is the key to all of this.
Our discover of deep rooted suffering and our journey into the heart is facilitated by the flood of love and openness in our lives. Recently, this love has been harder for me to connect with than ever. I’m not proud to say that it’s been hard for me to love myself recently. I have been deeply disconnected from the state of being that is love. The objectless love that penetrates the self, leaking it’s contents out like yolk. You have no other lens to see your self in except beauty when in this state of love. You have no other thoughts other than a deep appreciation of this earthly existence.
And this love is especially important when you feel that you don’t deserve it. These attachments to object-oriented love put us in this system in which we can only love ourselves under the right conditions. The truth is, this love is always available to us. This love does not disappear. We grow, we change, but we do not disappear. What if you were enough? What if, despite your shortcomings, experiences of suffering, beliefs, ideas of brokenness, and failures, you were enough!!! What if you could experience love that people describe the love of god, from deep within yourself. Because believe me, you can. And the only thing standing between you and this state of being is a belief.
Whether it’s that you’re unworthy, afraid, incapable, this belief prevents the flow of love within us. And when we allow this to flow, we can be shown exactly who we are. In these key moments of despair, our love is what allows the mud to settle, and the water to be clear. Will you have the courage to let the love in?
With all of this love,
Noah ❤
